Why it’s Savvy to Subscribe to the NPS Photography Newsletter

If you’re anything like me, it probably seems every time you enter your email you are subscribed to a list. That can make your inbox overflow and make it tough to keep track of what’s incoming.

But there’s a method to the madness. And here’s why you should subscribe to the NPS Photography newsletter!

While most of the companies you love have websites (like mine!) and some kind of social media presence, and, sure, you get interactions in both places, in the slog of stimuli coming your way on the daily, think of how much you miss.

Yes, You Need Another Email

As a small business owner, knowing you can’t control social media, Google or other search engines is a challenge since we WANT to be in regular touch with our clients. But there is a sneaky way to get around said challenge…our email lists!

That’s right!  By subscribing to the newsletter of the small business owner that you adore, you’re giving us access to communicate directly with you, in the place you probably spent a lot of your days – your inbox.

You may be asking yourself: What’s in it for me?

Here are some things I include in my newsletter:

  1. Favorite recipes. I’ve shared my grandad’s BBQ sauce, banana bread and pumpkin cheesecake to name a few. No, I’m not a chef, but when you spend years photographing families, a trust develops and people know I’m sharing these recipes because I love them!
  1. Helpful blogs for clients. I love linking back to my blogs, which provide details on everything from what to wear, how to prep your home, to what to expect at your session. The blogs provide clients (and prospects!) with all of the information needed to help feel ready for their session.
  1. Favorite things lists. I LOVE highlighting other small businesses and products I love and people love them, too! Why search Google for recommendations from strangers when you can get a suggestion from someone you trust?
  1. Stories. People love to read a story, and I have shared stories about everything from my family, to my travels and more.
  1. Special offer and model calls. Yep, you read that right. Special offers on sessions and model calls (like my Calm & Chaos Project) are always shared with my newsletter subscribers FIRST. And who doesn’t love to be the first to know?!
  1. Upcoming sessions. Similarly, the first place I share session availability is in my newsletter. Sometimes I fill those sessions up without ever having to promote them on social media. For limited offerings, being on the newsletter list cannot be beat.

What are you waiting for?

I know the value being on my newsletter list is for you. And for me, I know that me sharing a piece of myself each month in your inbox helps build trust, establish comfort and puts a face to my business. If you’re anything like me, I hope you’ll come to look forward to my email newsletters, knowing that you might get a helpful hint, new Georgetown restaurant recommendation, or first dibs to my fall sessions.
