Currently accepting applications for my 2023 Calm & Chaos Project.
I grew up with a sister – just the two of us. We were girly-girls and very typical “all girl”. Quiet and calm. We loved playing with dolls and reading bedtime stories.
I raised three boys. My house was loud and at times crazy! There was constant movement. Pure chaos.
And as a lifestyle photographer that shoots newborns and families in-home, you can say I’ve had a front row seat to motherhood, with ALL of its calm and chaotic moments.
And that has prompted my new project – Motherhood Calm & Chaos. This project will feature the duality of being a mom in two photographs – one that shows the quiet, calm moments of motherhood and one that shows the crazy chaos that is part of your every day. Because we all know that there is both, sometimes in the same 60 second span!
And, let’s face it an in-home session during chilly January is pretty perfect, right?
So, why a project?
In November, I attended The Love Soaked Retreat with Brooke Schultz. Brooke is such an inspiration creatively and personally. She is what I would call “an old soul” and it shows in her work. Doing an in-person retreat with her was a total dream!
The Retreat was three days in La Jolla, CA with Brooke and eight other talented family photographers. We stayed in an Airbnb, photographed five families (two with newborns) and Brooke did portfolio reviews of all of our work.
Part of our portfolio review was creating a project for January 2022 – that’s where Motherhood Calm & Chaos was born!
Now in 2023, I’m bringing it BACK! And I need your HELP!
I’m currently doing a model call within 10 miles of the 20007 zip code!

a mom with 2-3 children under the age of 7 (bonus if one of the children is under a year)

must be available in February-March for a 45 minute session in your home

a home with ample natural light (you will be asked to submit photos)

open to styling/wardrobe assistance

must sign a model release
And as a thank you, you will be sent all my favorite professionally edited photos at no cost to you! And I can promise you it will be more than two photos!
