Birthdays…Milestones…Birthday Photography
Every birthday is a Milestone. Those Milestones are fun to celebrate and capture when you are young, but maybe not so much as you get older. After all, how many times can you celebrate the Milestone of turning 29!?! But, turing ONE, that’s a milestone worth celebrating and documenting.
I first met Miss C over the summer at her Family Session. When her mom came to the ordering appointment she mentioned doing a One Year Sessions in the fall. She wanted it in the studio. I always do simple portraits before the “birthday” set-up. Those blue eyes and that sweet smile. Gorgeous! And how cute are her striped tights and little mary janes? She borrowed one of the headbands from the studio and it complimented her outfit perfectly.
Mom told me what colors she was planning on using and that she wanted a Fall theme. I had a burlap banner and rustic wood cake stand to complete the set-up. She definitely had more fun playing in the icing instead of actually eating the cake, but it made for perfect pictures! Check out the last portrait…she even got icing on the backdrop.
Birthday Photography can be so much fun! It’s a great time of year to get your child’s portrait taken. I recommend bringing two outfits to any birthday session. Maybe one that celebrates their age and one more classic look. I have small chairs and rockers, as well as, birthday banners that we can incorporate. Birthday Sessions can be done in the studio or at an outdoor Pinehurst location. I have done birthday session for ALL ages!
