Natasha Sewell

About

Hi! Welcome to NPS Photography. I’m Natasha, photographer, photography mentor, mom to three grown humans and a Shih Tzu, wife to Mark, and wannabe interior designer.

Here you’ll find joy filled family and newborn images with some photography/entrepreneur education sprinkled in.

I'm here to educate my clients and fellow photographers .

Who is Natasha Sewell?

Everything you want to know...

I was born in Washington, DC at Georgetown University Hospital and after nineteen years of moving around with my Army doc husband, I'm thrilled we've landed in the city where I grew-up!

So, where did we live for those nineteen years?
Cleveland, Ohio
Landstuhl, Germany
Pinehurst, North Carolina

Back in 2013, my three children were in school full-time, and I reached for my camera and never looked back. Ok, that wasn't actually the first time I reached for my camera – I've always loved taking pictures – just ask my kids!

When I opened my business, I specialized in posed newborn and family photography in my tiny in-home studio. Then, I moved to a  1,000-square-foot studio space and continued the posed newborn thing.

In late 2019, I began transitioning my photography business to Washington, DC and began offering in-home lifestyle photography - a HUGE change. In the midst of a worldwide shutdown, I continued to expand my lifestyle photography offerings and made the move to living full-time in DC.

THINGS I'VE LEARNED ALONG THE WAY...

Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart.

Done is better than perfect when it comes to business.

Following for inspiration is wonderful, comparison is not.

Photography besties are literally the best!

There are enough clients to go around - competition is NOT a thing.

There's nothing better than doing what you love!

what makes natasha happy

I haven't met a dress I didn't like and if it has pockets, well, you can bet it's going home with me!

Oh the theater!

My grandmother took me to the Kennedy Center to see Carol Channing in Hello, Dolly! when I was five and I was hooked.

Yes, we live in Georgetown and have a dog named Georgie! But he was part of our family before our move.

Walking in Georgetown or Washington Harbor in the early morning hours sets me up for a great day!

Yes, I love teaching (former elementary school teacher here), but I also love learning! So, don't be surprised to see me attending a conference or joining a mastermind.

Learning inspires and keeps me creative!
