Let’s clear something up right off the bat:
Just because I spend time soaking in the desert scenery of Palm Springs and mentoring other photographers doesn’t mean I’ve stopped photographing families in Washington, DC.

Not even close. DC is still home. My clients are here. My heart is here.

A Quick “Hi” If We Haven’t Met

Hey there, I’m Natasha! I’m a Washington DC family photographer who’s been documenting families and newborns in their real, lived-in spaces since 2013. Before that? I was a teacher and stay-at-home mom who turned a love of photography into a business that now includes client work and education for other photographers.

So yes—I’ve expanded into coaching and retreats like The Focused Path Retreat. But that hasn’t changed the heart of what I do: photographing DC families in their homes with intention, care, and connection.

Where You’ll Find Me (and When)

Here’s how it works:

DC = client work, heartfelt in-home sessions, and the families I adore
Palm Springs = editing, mentoring, soaking in the scenery, and dreaming big

I typically spend about a week each month in California. The rest of the time? I’m home in Washington, DC—walking my side-kick – Georgie, capturing joyful chaos, and helping families document the beauty of their everyday lives.

If you’re wondering whether I’m still available to photograph your family, the answer is an enthusiastic yes!

What I Photograph (And Why It Matters)

I specialize in in-home lifestyle photography for families and newborns. That means no studio lights, no stiff poses, and no pressure for everything to look perfect.

Here’s what I offer:

  • Newborn sessions in the comfort of your home
  • Family sessions that feel like your Sunday morning (laughter, love, and maybe a dance party in the kitchen)
  • Maternity sessions, often in-home or outdoors nearby
  • Milestone sessions for your baby’s first year
  • And seasonal offerings like Simple Summer Sessions and Personality Sessions

My work is rooted in real connection. I want your photos to reflect how your home feels right now—not just how it looks.

Why Families Keep Coming Back

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the idea of booking a photo session, I see you. That’s why I’ve created a process that’s full-service, calm, and dare I say… enjoyable?

1. An Easy, Thoughtful Experience

From first inquiry to final delivery, I guide you every step of the way. You don’t have to stress about outfits or tidy rooms. I’ll help you prep so you feel confident, relaxed, and ready.

2. A Session That Honors Your Real Life

Your toddler doesn’t have to sit still. Your baby doesn’t need to “cooperate.” I lean into the natural rhythms of your family to capture the connection, love, and little in-between moments that mean everything.

3. Tangible, Beautiful Artwork

After your session, I’ll help you choose the best way to preserve your images. I offer deckled edge fine art prints and custom-designed albums that turn your story into an heirloom.

These aren’t files that get lost in your phone. They’re memories you can hold – literally.

So… What’s Palm Springs All About?

Here’s the truth: my time in Palm Springs isn’t a step away from my business—it’s a step into it.

It’s where I host The Focused Path Retreat, mentor photographers 1:1, and do the behind-the-scenes thinking that allows me to keep evolving and serving my DC families better.

Being a Washington DC family photographer is still the center of what I do. I just happen to do some of my best creative work when I have room to breathe, reflect, and soak up a little desert calm.

Who I Photograph (It Might Be You)

My clients are:

  • New parents, seasoned parents, and people in the thick of family life
  • Families who want photos that feel relaxed and meaningful—not forced
  • People who value experiences over transactions
  • Moms who are finally ready to be in the frame instead of behind the camera

You don’t need a picture-perfect home or kids who sit still. You just need a little curiosity about what it might feel like to document your family in a way that’s easy, honest, and beautiful.
