Walking & Cake Eating | Pinehurst Baby Photographer

Miss E came to my Pinehurst studio this morning to celebrate turning one as part of her Watch Me Grow package. With a Watch Me Grow package, not only do I get to capture them at a few days old, but I get to capture them throughout their first year. Another added benefit is I get to know the family and watch a snuggly newborn grow into an active toddler. That’s what makes being a Pinehurst baby photographer one of the best jobs around! I first met Miss E for her newborn session. She was a dream. Her sitting-up session was one of my favorites! In fact, I have a 30×40 canvas from the session in my studio and I get to see her sweet face everyday.

Miss E wasn’t only full of smiles at her one year session, but she was on the go! Mom got a workout and I had to push my shutter super fast to capture this moving subject. We did manage to get her to sit on a bench and in a tub and the cake certainly kept her in one spot for a few minutes, too. My sessions are about the baby. I always incorporate some colors or props to make their session special, but the main focus is always them. A baby session starts with simple, classic portraits.  I encourage parents to bring more than one outfit.

Her beautiful cream dress against the cream background was such a traditional look. Mom brought a paper flower banner with all the colors from her smash cake. I added some puffs and we were ready for some cake smashing! Post smash, she did a clean up set-up in a metal tub and she got to show off her baby chub and rolls in her lace outfit that she also wore for her sitting-up session. I don’t think I could pick my favorite look or set-up.

I’m always sad to see a Watch Me Grow baby graduate. I have loved being Miss E’s Pinehurst Baby Photographer and I look forward to documenting her family in the future.
