2020 has been one strange year. So many changes, so many unknowns.
I’m sure you’ve experienced many new “normals”. I think expectant moms have endured some of the hardest changes and biggest unknowns. And they have been total champs! I haven’t heard one complaint from my clients. Not one!
I’m pretty confident that some of these changes are temporary. Certainly spouses will once again be allowed to attend appointments and ultrasounds. It’s just going to take time and probably a vaccine.
But one thing that I’ve heard might be here to stay, no hospital visitors. Which is a total bummer (although a few new mamas have said they love it!).
Fresh 48 Options
No hospital visitors means no Fresh 48 Sessions and no sibling visits. Thankfully, most moms are only in the hospital 24-72 hours these days.
The good news, you still have options! You can still have your newborn photographed by a professional photographer in those early days and without the sterile environment a hospital offers. In-home sessions are a fabulous way to capture all the newborn goodness!
Flexibility is the biggest plus with Lifestyle Newborn Sessions. The date is flexible – I’ve photographed newborns who are anywhere from 4 days to eight weeks old!
There is also flexibility with who is included in the session – maybe grandparents are visiting (ok, maybe not during the pandemic, but they will visit again!) and they can be included in the session.
There is also so much flexibility with the time we do the session. We can choose the time of day when your kids are happiest and when the light is just right!
And the best part, every picture doesn’t need to be taken in one spot! We can use several rooms or even go outside for some of the session. So many options!
A DIY Option
Yep. I’m here to share a do-it-yourself Fresh 48 option, too! Maybe you had a Fresh 48 with your oldest child or maybe you really wanted to capture all the little details right away.
I completely understand. That’s why I created a Fresh 48 Guide for you! I had 50+ moms-to-be download my guide as the world shut down back in March. I was thrilled when they shared the pictures they took of their new additions with me! And the best part, you only need your cell phone camera to capture these priceless shots.
