You know how I always say that I am continuously taking classes and learning? Well, it’s true. This Pinehurst studio maternity session is a perfect example.
You are probably thinking that this isn’t the usual maternity sessions you see from NPS Photography. You’re right! I had done a maternity conference of sorts online. 15 or more maternity photographers from around the world had video tutorials on different aspects and types of maternity sessions. Some were studio sessions. As most of you know, I relocated my studio from my home to another location in February. My home studio worked well, but was very limiting. My new studio space can accommodate a lot more! So, I had literally just finished the maternity conference when a client contacted me about a studio maternity session. I knew I had the space and I now had the knowledge.
This stunning mom is pregnant with her second child and wanted to document it in a more intimate way. I chose my thunder gray backdrop knowing it would give us an amazing background and help create the shadows I was looking for. This mama is very comfortable in front of camera. We both had a few ideas and we just went for it! The result speaks for itself. I edited all her images in color and black and white. The dark background and lighting position made the images ideal for black and whites. A little drama and a perfect bump.
NPS Photography is now offering studio maternity sessions for expectant moms only. Outdoor maternity sessions are still available when you want to include your spouse or family.
