A sweet newborn girl completed this family of five. She has two big brothers who love her to pieces (as you can see below!). Mom wanted her session to be all girl, so I chose pinks and bows to incorporate into the session. She looks pretty perfect in pink, too!
Little Miss E was not a fan of sleep – yes, even at 10 day old. She didn’t want to miss a thing! What do I do when a baby doesn’t want to sleep? Wrap! For a Deluxe Newborn Session the baby needs to sleep for at least part of it, so if the baby is fed and clean, I wrap them! After all, they have been in tight quarters for a while, so wrapping the baby makes them feel cozy and safe. Also, with the baby wrapped, there are no flailing arms and legs.
Eventually, all baby falls asleep. Believe me, I can out last a 5-14 day old baby 😉 Once they are asleep, I get the posed, naked portraits.
I send all my clients instructions for the hours before their session. So, don’t worry if your little one isn’t asleep when you first arrive.
