Creative Soul
Photographers are many different things. From landscape photographers to wedding photographers to lifestyle photographers to everything in between. Every photographer has a different process.
My photography style has certainly changed over the years from posed to lifestyle. Posed photography was all about creating a moment and everyone looking at the camera. And while I loved working with a capturing my clients – it didn’t really let me use my creativity.
And that’s what Lifestyle Photography has done for me – let me be creative! Every session fuels my creativity.
And one way I flex my creativity is by mixing things up!
Capturing All the Details
Detail shots are some of my favorites…the swirl of a new baby’s hair, their little toes or fingers. And instead of getting the same shot at every session, I love trying something new!
Instead of toes from above, I tried this angle below. And it’s pretty much my favorite! It tells a story – parents excitement and admiration with the focus on those adorable toes.
And this capture – you can’t even see the baby’s face, but the baby is the focus – everyone including the pup looking at the sweet baby. The picture once again tells a story.
Mom touching the baby’s toes or dad holding her tiny fingers.
And then there are the details in her nursery – the books and stuffed animals her parents picked out. And the amazing accent wall with the mountain scene and even her sweet crib sheets. I include them all because they are the little things that her parents will always remember. In fact, they told me all about putting up that accent wall when I was photographing them – how they picked it out, the colors and the ups and downs of putting it up!
Details Tell the Story
