Maternity Pictures with Family

July 30, 2018

I love to include the whole family in outdoor maternity sessions! It’s a great way to capture some family portraits before your family grows. It is especially wonderful to do maternity pictures with family when there is just one child (and a bump!). The child becomes a focus at the session – don’t worry, I get portraits of mom alone, too!.

The K Family booked a maternity session and a Watch Me Grow package with me for there soon-to-be second child. Their baby girl is sure to be well documented during that first year, but her big brother will join in the fun, too, just like he did in the maternity session.

H wasn’t too sure about me and my big camera and lens at first. He wanted to stick pretty close to mom. That allowed me to capture some precious moments of mom’s “first baby”.  Getting those candid moments in between the more posed portraits are the ones that make my heart melt. I knew when H grabbed his mom’s maternity dress that I had captured a feeling, not just a portrait.

The K Family did an amazing job styling themselves! Their neutral outfits create a classic look against all the summer greenery. I look forward to a year of sessions with this family and their soon-to-be new addition.

Hi, I’m Natasha Sewell, owner of NPS Photography—DC photographer, mom of three, and expert at keeping newborn sessions calm and chaos-free.

I’ve worked with hundreds of families across DC and know exactly how to make this feel easy for you. Whether your toddler’s melting down or your baby skipped their nap, I’ve got you.

You don’t need a “picture perfect” house or matching outfits. You just need someone who knows how to guide you through it all. That’s where I come in.
