One of the best parts of doing Pinehurst photography is customizing a Milestone Session for each client. Everyone’s milestones are different.
J contacted me a few months ago about doing a special double graduation Milestone Session for her and her little girl. She was graduating from Sandhills Community College and sweet L was graduating Pre-K from Sandhills Children’s Center (both SCC). J wanted to celebrate by doing a Mommy & Daughter session, but we got dad in a few pictures, too! I’ve said it before, if you are making the effort to come out and do a session, it makes sense to get a few family images. Dad needed a little convincing, but he did it!
Milestone Sessions are 30 minute sessions at one location (outdoors or at the Midland Road, Pinehurst studio) and I edit a minimum of ten images. Pinehurst photography can be unpredictable, especially when children are involved. I say a 30 minute session, but I don’t keep track of time and I make sure we get every shot. Sometimes, kids need a little time to warm-up. I give them that time. I talk to them, ask them questions, get on their level, play games and make them comfortable. Here’s where my education degree helps! I have lots of experience with children of all ages. I want my clients to have a stress free session. I do everything possible to make that happen!
One day Miss L will look back on this session and cherish all the thought and effort her mom put into capturing this milestone. The matching caps and gowns, the chalkboard sign and the graduation balloons.
