I have lived in Georgetown full time for a little over a year, but I grew-up going to church in Georgetown and my great grandparents and grandmother lived in Georgetown, too. Gone are some old favorites like Commander Salamander (I used to love looking at the crazy make-up and neon clothing) and Little Caledonia (a go-to for the perfect gift), but there are so many wonderful places that fill the streets of Georgetown.
Mark and I were actually married at Christ Church, Georgetown (on the corner of 31st & O Streets), too!
Favorite Bakery – Georgetown, Washington, DC
Boulangerie Christophe is the absolute best French bakery. The pastries and baked goods are delicious, as are the salads and quiche, and the courtyard in the back is magical! You feel like you’ve been transported out of the city. It’s also dog friendly which is a major plus for me and my pup – Georgie.
Favorite Gift/Home Store – Georgetown, Washington, DC
Storie Collective – Sara Swabb has curated the most beautiful items for your home – including my favorite candles by Naked Goat Co they even have their own branded candle scent! She has an amazing eye and I have used her to design several areas of my home. Unique Kitchens and Baths is also on the space – they did my dreamy kitchen cabinets. It’s a great place to find some new items for your home or pick-up the perfect hostess gift!
Favorite Skin Care Shop/Facials – Georgetown, Washington, DC
Take Care Shop is the best place for your skin care needs and especially a facial. Becky the owner is so knowledgeable about every product they carry. And Erin is my go to for the most incredible facial in town. Also, need a crystal…they have an unbelievable selection!
Favorite Restaurants in Georgetown, Washington, DC
I could literally write a book! But, some of are true favorites include Martin’s Tavern (I love the clam chowder), Peacock Cafe (the salmon cake salad is my go-to), Liberté (the BEST salad niçoise), Yellow (try the honey blossom croissant) and Lutecé (EVERYTHING is a must try!).
Favorite Cupcakes – Georgetown, Washington, DC
Baked and Wired is hands down the BEST! My favorites are the coconut and carrot cake, but honestly every flavor is incredible.
Georgetown is filled with “chain type” stores and some restaurants that can be found in other cities, but I highly recommend seeking out the local shops and restaurants. It’s SO worth it!
