I thought 2020 was going to be the BEST year ever! I was ready for it. I had all the big dreams and big goals and I was going for it.
2020 started off with RISE Ft. Myers.
RISE is women’s conference. I went to it in Dallas with my sister in July 2019 and then a friend wanted to go and had no one to go with her, so me being the good friend – I said I’d go!
Part of RISE is setting goals. Big, audacious goals and that’s just what I did. The goals included business and personal things. Like travel every month, book three clients a week and – this was the BIG one – run a half marathon.
You read that right…run a half marathon.
Let me clarify something for you…I didn’t run at the time. Yes, I had the cute running clothes and the running shoes, but I was a walker.
Fast forward to March 2020. The world shut down. Remember all those trips I had planned every month…cancelled. Remember booking three clients a week…I couldn’t work! So what was left? The half marathon.
Little by little I have been running. I’ve tried the Couch to 5k app (yes, that’s a thing), the Peloton app, and just running for spurts on the treadmill. Now I wouldn’t say I’m a runner yet, but I’m getting there!
And I did something else. I signed-up for the RISE Half Marathon in Texas in December. I don’t know if the race will happen (thanks Coronavirus), but I’m going to start training like it’s happening!
I’ll let you in on a little secret – all my goals have changed. Well, most of them, but the Half Marathon is still there.
Did you have to shift your goals for 2020?
