Travel Goals
One of my goals for 2020 was to travel every month this year. They didn’t have to all be BIG trips, but I wanted to go somewhere – even if it was just our condo in DC.
Thank you Cornona virus for squashing my goals. We had a few big trips planned for 2020 – London, Disney World (in case you missed it – I LOVE Disney) and a trip to Hawaii with my husband’s entire family.
Honestly, I’ve moved on! But I still spend time dreaming about future travel again.
So, in my dreams, here’s where I’m going!
Summer 2014
Beach at WaterSound
30A
BEST beach ever! Cute little towns, amazing restaurants and rental houses that are like no other! After you have been to 30A it’s hard to go to a different beach destination. We’ve been twice and stayed in WaterColor and WaterSound. I think WaterSound was my favorite. Gated community with a private beach, several pools and a putting park! A blast with kids.
UPDATE: And this is the FIRST place we are going in late July!!! We rented a house in WaterSound, we are driving straight there (no overnight stops), we are bringing ALL our food and I can’t wait!!!
Serendipty3 – Frozen Hot Chocolates
To Kill A Mockingbird on Broadway
NYC
NYC there’s something about you…Any “Annie” fans out there?
Seriously, New York has a piece of my heart. We go at least once a year (last year it was three times – although one trip was literally for the day). I love the hustle and bustle of the city. The restaurants (we always hit Serendipity3 and Nobu) and no surprise Broadway! We have celebrated my oldest birthday in NYC too many times to count (his birthday is right before Christmas – such a fun time).
My heart aches for NYC right now. They have been hit hard during this pandemic and I hope all our favorite places survive.
DPAC
I’m a theater fan (read above). So much so I have season tickets to DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) – it counts as travel because it’s about an hour away. The fun part about DPAC is that I make a day of it! Usually brunch followed by a show. It’s also fun to take a friend, one of my boys or my hubby. A bunch of the 2019-2020 shows have been rescheduled and I am looking forward to seeing them when it’s safe to do so.
EPCOT – January 2019
Disney
I’m pretty sure I could be a Disney travel agent. I’m embarrassed to tell you how many time I’ve been. I’m a planner, so planning a Disney trip is actually super fun for me! We were supposed to go with three other families to celebrate out kids graduating from high school. We canceled as soon as everything started shutting down, BUT we have already booked for next May!
I want to know where do you love to to go? What’s the first trip you are planning?
