Newborn baby portraits are my speciality. I mean, I enjoy family, toddler, maternity and baby sessions, but newborns are my jam. I get excited (and a bit nervous) before each newborn session. I love styling the sessions and pulling items compliment what was filled out on the Styling Questionnaire. I only give options I LOVE, so I truly enjoy every item I pull for the session.
What do you get to choose in the Styling Questionnaire?
Overall color scheme.
Props.
Additional colors for wraps, bonnets, hats and headbands.
Wood floor colors.
I also ask which type of portraits are MOST important to you and what colors are in your nursery among a few other things.
Why are these questions so important for me to know before your newborn baby portraits? I want your session to be EXACTLY what you envision. I want your portraits to look beautiful in your home. Your portraits should put a smile on your face. Now and always.
Miss M’s mom chose whites and creams for her overall preference. She liked cream flooring and newborn beds as options. But, beanbag portraits were most important to her and she requested limited or no props. I pulled all creams and whites. When Miss M’s big sisters arrived in red and white (and since she was born so close to Christmas), I asked mom if she wanted me to pull a simple red bow headband. It was the PERFECT compliment to her big sisters.
When you chose me to do your newborn baby portraits, you are choosing me because you like my style of photography. But, I want you to know that you have choices and input in your session. After all, these newborn baby portraits are yours forever.
