Have you ever reached a moment where your photography felt… off the path you imagined it on? Where you knew something needed to shift, but weren’t sure what or how?
In this episode of The Art & Soul Show, hosted by Lisa DiGeso, I share how I moved from pose‑studio sessions to in‑home lifestyle photography and how that shift changed everything—my creative joy, my client relationships, and how I run my business – reinventing your photography style can reinvigorate you and your business.

Why Reinventing My Photography Style Was the Best Business Decision I Made
I found that when I started honouring the who I am (not just the what I did), the game changed. From my gear to my session style to my client experience, everything shifted.
Here’s how:
- By embracing in‑home lifestyle photography, I leaned into authenticity, connection and emotion over perfect poses.
- I reviewed every touchpoint of my client process—questionnaire to gallery delivery—and fine‑tuned them to support both my clients and my creativity.
- My website became a resource, not just a portfolio—clarifying what I offer, how I work, and who I’m talking to.
- I introduced prep videos, product walkthroughs and streamlined communication to better serve busy families.
- I gave myself space for projects that spark joy (hello, film and motion blur) which renewed my energy and influenced my client work.
The result? A photography business that feels right, not forced. One where clients feel seen, supported, and excited.
Want to Take Action After Listening?
Here are two quick things you can do right now:
- Pick one session touchpoint (booking email, prep guide, gallery delivery) and ask: “Does this reflect who I am and who I serve?” Then tweak it.
- Block 30 minutes to work through your website with fresh eyes. Is it clearly communicating your style, your value, your process? If not—make one change today.
