Being a baby photographer can be so much fun! Especially when you get to work with happy, smiley one year olds like this guy. It has been such a joy capturing him throughout his first year. J was a Watch Me Grow baby. He was the last baby I photographed in my old studio. See J’s newborn session HERE.
One year old sessions can be anything from simple portraits to a full on cake smash (C.Cups in Southern Pines has fabulous cake options)! I’ve done donut smashes and ice cream celebrations, too. Sometime clients choose to bring one balloon or a whole bunch. I have banners ranging from various colors with ONE and a rainbow HAPPY BIRTHDAY which is one of my favorites! A few accesorries to commemorate turning one makes the portraits a bit more festive. From a little birthday hat (or crown!) to a onesie or shirt with one. So many options and there are many local boutiques that have fabulous birthday items. One of my favorite children’s boutiques is Belli Bambini in downtown Southern Pines. So, you don’t have to go far to find the perfect items.
J’s parents decided to keep it simple. Two sweet looks and a few fun items (birthday crown and bow tie). One year olds still have that chub and some rolls and it’s always fun to document. His little diaper cover and bow tie were perfect! And how adorable is his ONE tie onesie and ONE crown? Crowns and hats are tricky. Babies usually don’t like things on their heads and try to rip the off the first chance they get. No worries! One of my jobs doing Southern Pines photography is to be super fast! So, we got it before he ripped it off.
