How do I book a session?
I would love to talk to you about your session and get it on my calendar! I recommend booking your Newborn Session sometime in your second trimester. I will put your due date on my calendar and then you will contact me once your little one arrives to schedule the exact session date and time. Please note that newborn sessions are done on weekday mornings in my Pinehurst Studio.
Milestone Sessions can be booked anytime! However, my calendar does fill-up, so I recommend scheduling your session at least two months before.
A 50 dollar deposit is due at the time of booking via invoice. The balance is due at the session.
Once you book your session, you will receive a confirmation and a gorgeous Session Guide, as well as, a link to my Style Guide. You will also be asked to fill out an online Agreement form before your session.
What is the photoshoot process?
For newborn sessions, you will get an additional confirmation once we schedule the exact session date and time. There will be instructions for the morning of the session. You will arrive at the studio and I will take over. You can sit and relax and enjoy watching the session (or you can take a nap!). Newborn sessions last anywhere from 45 minutes for a Mini Newborn Session to 3 hours for the Deluxe and Heirloom Newborn Sessions. If siblings are going to be part of the session (only available for Deluxe and Heirloom Newborn Sessions), we will do those images first.
For Maternity and Milestone Sessions, we meet at my studio or an outdoor location within the Southern Pines/Pinehurst area. The sessions last 30 minutes. You are more than welcome to bring more than one outfit, especially for one year sessions.
Two weeks after your session you will meet me for your ordering session (this can also be done through Skype is you are not able to meet me). I will show you a slide show of your edited images and help you place your order at that time.
Generally, orders are ready in two weeks with the exception of the Photoblocks which take 6-8 weeks.
When do you do Maternity Sessions?
I typically shoot Maternity Sessions between 32-35 weeks. I recommend contacting me in your second trimester to schedule.
When do you do Newborn Sessions?
Ideally, Newborn Sessions should be done in the first two weeks. However, I welcome older newborns! The Mini Newborn Session is ideal for older newborns.
Can I bring props and choose colors for my newborn session?
YES! I have an extensive array of props and newborn items. I always ask what colors you would like used in your session. I keep my newborn sessions classic, simple, and timeless with the idea these images will be displayed in your home. The session is all about showing off the newborn! You are welcome to bring items that are important to you and your family. I always do my best to incorporate them.
Do you offer digital images?
YES! Digital images with a print release are available. There are several newborn collections that include digital images, as well as, prints or albums or wall art. I recommend backing-up your digital images in at least two additional places. I highly recommend printing your images. You have invested time and money in doing a photo session with NPS Photography, so display the images! Don’t let them sit on a computer.
Do you offer any discounts?
YES! I offer a 10% discount on session fees for military and teachers. With my newborn packages you get anywhere from a 10%-25% discount off a la carte items.
Do you offer Mini Sessions?
YES! Mini Sessions are offered twice a year (usually October and April). They are the perfect way to update your family photos!
My baby/toddler is sick! What do I do?
Call me! I’m a mom. I get it. You do not want images of your sick child. We will reschedule the session as soon as everyone is healthy!
